OOTD: Pink Blazer

Shop this look: Vince Camuto blazer (oos; similar here) | Calvin Klein Jeans tee (oos; similar here) | Parasuco moto leggings (exclusively at Costco; similar here) | Converse sneakers (oos; similar here) | Calvin Klein Cindy tote

This is one of my all-time favourite looks! I am always wearing it on repeat! It can be casually worn or for a business environment, depending on how it accessorized and with what kind of pants. For example, I sometimes wear this look with leggings for a more casual look, or it can be dressed up with black cigarette-style pants for a more formal look.

My favourite part of this outfit is the pink blazer! It definitely adds a twist to a classic black (or neutral colour) blazer. I am personally a pink kind of gal, but any variation of colour would work as well.

Moreover, it is hard to see in the pictures, but my leggings actually have a seem detail on the thighs. These moto-style leggings help to dress up the outfit, rather than having plain black leggings.

Inspiration Tuesday: Neutrals

I am obsessed with this look! If I had an unlimited budget, I would be dressed in this manner EVERY DAY! Using neutral colours really creates an elegant and sleek outfit, and the high quality accessories make it look polished. Although this outfit is very expensive, investing in high quality items, fabrics, and brands ends up costing less in the long run. You will never have to repurchase the item, as they will last you a life time.

OOTD: Bare-Shoulder Knitwear

Shop this look: Le Château sweater (on sale!) | Kensie jeans (oos; similar here) | Aldo booties (oos; similar here) | Michael Kors bag (colour “luggage” is no longer available)

This was the first time I was wearing this particular sweater (I also have it in pink- see blog post here). I think it makes for such a simple yet stylish outfit that can be worn for most occasions. Furthermore, I think the fact that it is off-the-shoulder helps to differentiate it from all the other sweaters that are seen everywhere. Because I kept to basic colours, and the way that this garment is designed, the focal point is the exposed shoulders. Even though my shoulders are the only body part exposed, it still is more on the seductive side.

This sweater could also be styled tucked into a plaid mini-skirt, with a black leather belt (something similar to the Gucci Double G belts) and over-the-knee black suede boots. Something similar to this. If I had those garments, I would totally wear that outfit. Unfortunately, I must follow a strict budget due to high tuition and school costs. A girl can dream though…

Quick life update: it is currently reading week at school. Since I have no classes to attend, I have been studying and getting ahead in all my courses. Moreover, trying to get as many hours at work as possible. If I am being perfectly honestly, my life is quite boring. The only activities in which I engage are school, studying, work, blogging, swimming, and sleeping. I think we often forget that when you are a full-time student, you live a different reality. There is nothing wrong with that; our lives are just filled with different schedules and objectives. We must do what we need to in order to achieve our goals and be successful in our results.

OOTD: Burgundy Knitwear

Shop this look: Hilary Radley sweater (oos; very similar here) | Calvin Klein Jeans jeggings (oos; similar here) | Michael Kors bag (“luggage” colour is oos) | Aldo booties (oos; different colour here)

I have owned this sweater for approximately four years, and to this day, it is still my all-time favourite knit sweater! It is super soft and is very durable, based on the number of times I have worn it. I basically live in it during the Fall. Funny enough, I purchased this sweater at Costco, for I think $25?!? I love going to Costco and finding really cute and fashionable clothes, and they are SUPER affordable! I have never seen such good prices. You can even find some designer clothing, such as Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger for a fraction of their retail price. Of course, if you are looking for the latest trends or clothes that are in for that season, you might have more luck at an actual retail location. Costco however has more classic and basic pieces that can be styled anytime.

I completed this look with brown leather tones. I find that browns paired with burgundies look AMAZING for Fall! Paired with black pants, in this case I wore black jeggings, really makes those tonalities pop!

Inspiration Tuesday: Burgundies and Browns

I am loving these colour tonalities for Fall! The burgundy poncho is the focal point of the outfit, keeping the other items in neutral shades of black and brown. Also, Fall is the time to bring out your leather riding boots! They are comfortable, warm, durable, and super fashionable! Especially this pair with both brown and black leather, they are very versatile and can be styled endlessly.

OOTD: Blazer Athleisure

Shop this look: Kenneth Cole NY blazer (oos; similar here + 25% off!) | Zara leggings | US Polo Association men’s tee | Calvin Klein Cindy tote | Costco pearl earrings

These red-striped leggings were a huge trend last year, and continue to be this Fall season. They bring an athletic vibe to the whole outfit, and can easily be dressed up or dressed down. I decided to keep my overall outfit in the shades of black, white, and grey, so as to bring more emphasis on the only colour: red.

Moreover, lately I have been loving men’s white tees. They are super comfortable and tend to be cheaper than women’s tee. To style it more femininely, I tied a knot to remove some of the bulkiness and looseness of the shirt. Alternatively, you could do a front tuck to achieve the same result. This helps to cinch and define the waist, especially for a look like this one, in which the blazer is more oversized. Similarly to the shirt, I rolled the sleeves of the blazer to make it fit in a more flattering manner. I find when styling over-sized clothing, you want to tighten some part of it, so that the looseness and bulkiness looks intentional. Otherwise, if the garment is left alone, it just looks like you are wearing the wrong-sized clothing.

Hope you enjoyed this post and some of these styling tips! Have a lovely week!

OOTD: Leather Appliqué

Shop this look: Dynamite top (oos; similar here) | RW&Co denim (on sale!) | Calvin Klein Cindy tote | Guess belt (oos; different colour here) | Melanie Lyne nail bracelet

This outfit is great for the transitional weather from Summer to Fall. It can also be worn with a cardigan for added warmth. I kept the overall look really simple, keeping the focal point on the leather appliqué of my top. I really like the subtle edginess and moto vibes it adds to the outfit.

Moreover, just a quick life update. I am in university, starting my third year of a Bachelors of Commerce, majoring in marketing. Most of my time is spent studying, especially with midterms coming up very soon. If not studying or at school, I am at work, clocking in approximately 25 hours per week. It is a lot to take on, but I pride myself in good time management. Also, I do not really have a social life, so there’s that haha. My goal is to graduate debt-free!!! It is hard work, but I think it is definitely worth it! I find prioritizing my time and energy and sticking to my schedule and study plan are necessary to be able to succeed.

OOTD: Wrap-Around Denim

Shop this look: Parasuco denim jacket (oos; similar here) | Calvin Klein Jeans tee (oos; similar here) | Calvin Klein jeggings (oos; similar here) | Michael Kors bag (“luggage” colour is oos + on sale!) | Aldo booties (oos; different colour here) | Melanie Lyne screw and crystal bracelet | Civion arrow bracelet (use code LILYBELF25 for 25% off!)

This is such an easy outfit to put together, and it is seen everywhere for Fall! It is a great way to bring your wardrobe basics into one outfit: white tee, black denim, denim jacket. I finished off the look with brown accents, to bring out Fall colours and tones, and to warm it up a bit. Conversely, I could have worn white sneakers and a black leather tote instead, it really is personal preference, however both alternatives would look good.

I find this type of outfit very convenient for university. It is comfortable enough to get through a long day of classes, and is perfect for varying temperatures (ex: air-conditioned classroom and warm outdoors). Not only does the jacket act as a great layering piece, but also helps to cinch the waist, creating an hourglass shape.

Take care loves, xox

Inspiration Tuesday: Moto Blush

This look is perfect for Fall, with the double-breasted blazer and over-the-knee suede boots! It is a good mix of classy and edgy, especially with the moto-style leather leggings. The blush accents adds a hint of femininity to soften the overall look. Of course it can be interchanged with another colour, but as we all know, I am a pink kinda gal!
