Silk scarves are a great way to accessorize an outfit. In recent fashion, in addition to being worn around the neck, they have been styled on handbags, wrists, in hairdos, and worn as belts. These trends originate from the French woman’s love of wearing scarves on a daily basis from which stemmed a need to functionally carry them around after being worn. Storing a scarf inside a purse might not always be the best option; the bag might be too small or you might not want to get makeup and lipstick stains on your scarf. The French woman has developed different methods of carrying around her silk scarves in a practical manner that over time have become a fashion trend in its own.
There are a few reasons why silk makes for the best of scarves:
- silk will not make you overheat and will act as a wind-breaker. Even in Summer, they are worn during car rides in a convertible or on a boat ride.
- silk will hold its shape and hardly ever wrinkles. It can be shoved at the bottom of a bag and still look good once taken out.
Below are different ways to wear a silk scarf.
With A Ponytail – When you are on the go, it is super easy to throw your hair into a ponytail and to tie your scarf around it. Can be worn as a bow or just tied into a simple knot on a high or low ponytail. It is a great way to accessorize an outfit or to glam up a simple hairdo, and accomplishes the goal of getting the silk scarf out of the way after it has been worn.
In A Bow On A Handbag – Everyone knows how to tie a bow. This method works on all handbags and takes hardly any time! It is a great way of stowing your silk scarf and definitely makes your handbag look chic.
Tied Around The Neck In A Simple Knot – By wrapping the silk scarf around once and knotting it prevents it from being chunky around the neck. It is more easily achieved with a skinny or slim scarf. Letting it drape down is not only part of the simplicity of the look but also adds fluidity to an outfit.
Wrapped Around The Handle Of A Bag – An alternative to tying the silk scarf in a bow. It may look complex, but in actuality takes minimal time to achieve such a luxurious result.

A very casual and comfortable athleisure look. Perfect for running errands, going to the gym, or just wanting to have a relaxed day at home. I like taking these active-looking outfits and sprucing them up with jewelry and a nice bag to make them a bit more glamorous and feminine.
The day I shot this outfit, I also talked about men’s tees on my IG stories. Just to recap that conversation, men’s shirts are a lot better quality, with a thicker material that is not see-through and does not stretch, for a way better price! The one I am wearing comes in a pack of four for $20 at Costco! That comes to $5 a piece, which is an AMAZING deal!
Quick life update: I apologize for not being so active on my blog or IG lately; I have been SUPER busy!!! I have officially left the nest and spread my wings. After a lot of back and forth and after finding time between shifts, I have FINALLY moved into my very first apartment! There is still much to do, boxes to unpack, and things to buy however it is progressing bit by bit. It is a pretty big adjustment, however I am excited to be completely settled in!

I ordered this blouse sometime this year after seeing Sophie Shohet wearing it in one of her youtube videos. It is such an elegant blouse and I love the gold and pearl detailing on the collar. It is a classic cut yet is unique in its details. This piece can be dressed up or dressed down, whether it is for a dressy, casual, or business look.
That being said, I am definitely feeling the blush and white vibes this Spring, as seen with all the other blush and white outfits that are to come, and I hope you are too! Until next time, xox.
A satchel is a bag that is carried over the shoulder with a shoulder strap and that has handles. This style of bag originates from the messenger bag English students would use for school, hence the traditional Oxford and Cambridge satchel bags. Today, they are incorporated into everyday outfits, and are worn for numerous occasions.
A tote bag is a large bag that is used to carry a large number of items. They started as reusable fabric bags for running errands and purchasing groceries, but have evolved into their own fashion trend. For school, I actually use a tote bag instead of a backpack; it is much more fashionable and convenient and I still have enough room for my MacBook and other school supplies.
Nude Shoulder Bag
Typically in a smaller size, this style of bag if worn over the shoulder. This is the most common bag style for designer brands, some of whose bags are iconic. For example the Chanel Boy Bag, Chanel Flap Bag, Gucci Marmont, and Yves Saint Laurent Loulou, just to name a few. They are convenient for small daily necessities, such as keys, cards, and lipsticks. Due to their smaller size, they are lightweight and are easy to manipulate when moving around.

I have used this tweed blazer for a couple different OOTD posts, and I keep finding new ways to style it. I definitely LOVE this blazer and it fits me like a glove! I was recently gifted a new Karl Lagerfeld Paris blazer and am excited to share it with you all! Outfit for that will be coming soon!
This outfit focuses on the play of cream and black, with white as a neutral base. These colours are of such French influence, as seen with Chanel. By using mainly neutral colours, so many different outfits can be made and each garment can be styled in various manners. As much as I love my pops of colour, I for sure appreciate a more classic and neutral-toned wardrobe. I feel like during the Summer I bring out very bright and saturated colours, which all remind me of the Amalfi coast and of numerous Italian designers (ex: Dolce & Gabbana). However, during the rest of the year, my main colours are neutral, such as black and white, which is more of the French style.

I love to pair colourful pieces with white pants or shorts, as it really helps bring out the pigment and makes the garment look more saturated. Paired with all-white accessories for a bright and fresh Spring outfit.

This outfit is perfect for April weather, using both Winter and Spring pieces. Wearing colourful knitwear is an easy and affordable way to use your winter attire in Spring and Summer outfits. I actually purchased this sweater in last summer on major sale, following my shopping technique of buying outside of the season. You can read all about that HERE.
On another note, I have decided to change my posting schedule from Monday-Friday to Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Basically I am just cutting out Wednesdays.
Happy Easter Monday, xox

This was my school look today; very easy to style and follows my outfit formula. Click HERE to read all about it! It is finally starting to feel like Spring and I can finally wear something other than winter boots, so I have brought out my most-worn, and SUPER comfortable, ankle booties. If you have been following me for a while, or have read some of my other OOTD posts, you know very well that I like to match my metallics and leathers. Since my booties are brown leather, I paired them with my brown leather tote and brown leather belt. All the metallics are gold-toned, as seen by my bag, belt buckle, sunglasses, and by the buttons on my blouse. Speaking of which, I have been wearing this blouse for over seven years now, and it is still going strong! It is a classic piece and with how frequently I wear it, has definitely paid off.
On a side note, I am in the homestretch of my third year at university, with finals coming up in the next few weeks. I apologize in advance if the amount of content I publish will diminish, but rest assured, it is only temporary until school is less of a rush. I have 13 assignments due in a 14-day period. Wish me luck.

Look stylish and warm this winter with real natural materials, such as alpaca wool and genuine leather. This pink-coloured coat is feminine and matches well with black monochrome accessories, perfect for these cold January days.

Simple, elegant, and super cozy for these cold Winter months. By playing on black and white tonalities, the accent is on the gold metallics of the accessories. The metal work on the Chanel belt is beautifully designed, and the Versace watch is absolutely gorgeous!

This outfit is your typical street-style office wear look. A white blouse slightly tucked into skinny black pants and black stiletto heels, with a top knot to finish the look. A classic blouse paired with the leather pants is one of my favourite looks, and I have been sporting this so much recently, as it blends classic and feminine style with an edgier look. I especially like this silk blouse, as it is made from natural fibers (thus is not static and glides over my skin) and it is not see through. When purchasing this however, the sizing guide is very confusing and inaccurate, as with the size the models are wearing. I found that if you are bigger in the bust and shoulder areas, definitely size up. In my case, I usually purchase size medium for tops, however I ended up sizing up to a large.
For a more festive outfit, I would let my hair down in curls, and swap out the bag and jewelry for a glittery clutch and bold jewelry. Something along the lines of chunky black earrings and a huge fashionable gemstone ring.
This is something I would also wear for school, but would dress it down to make it more casual. I would wear white sneakers instead of heels and a black leather tote rather than the shoulder bag so that I am able to carry my MacBook and all my other school supplies.

I am loving the combination of red and leather details in this outfit! Since we are nearing Christmas, it gives off a festive vibe, and can be worn for the office with black dress pants or tucked into a pencil skirt. Alternatively, it can be paired with a black party skirt for other holiday occasions. An easy trick for making your style more festive is to wear a bold coloured blouse (such as royal blue or red) combined with dressy pants or a dressy skirt, black heels, and some bling (ex: on a clutch or jewelry).
Instead of wearing traditional black pants, I opted for a pair with gold zippers and a leather waistband. This really makes them stand out from your typical black dress pants, and adds a moto-chic, edgy vibe to your overall outfit. These could also be worn with other colour blouses or knitwear during the Fall, or a plain white tee tucked in for the Spring.

This outfit is focused on using basic pieces all in black to create a neutral backdrop for luxurious details. It is accessorized with high quality items, such as a Chanel bag, a Karl Lagerfeld silk scarf, and a Lauren by Ralph Lauren leather belt. This is the easiest method for getting a luxurious and elegant style; basic pieces + designer accessories. By creating the base of the outfit with basic pieces, your budget is optimized because they are typically inexpensive and you can purchased only a few items and restyle them in so many ways. Basic clothing items in neutral colours can be mixed and matched to make an infinite number of different outfits, that can be repeated numerous times by changing the accessories for different looks. By using high-end or designer bags, belts, scarves, jewelry, and shoes, your bring quality and luxury to any basic outfit.
Furthermore, just a quick life update. I am in the last week of my university session, and nearing final exams. I am absolutely obsessed with this Fall look! It has been a favourite of mine for years, and this year I finally purchased a tan suede mini skirt and OTK black suede boots. If you look at my Fall Fashion Pinterest board, this type of outfit appears very frequently haha.
This is such a fashionable look, and it is super affordable to recreate. Both the sweater and the boots are on sale right now, and the other two pieces are both under $45 each. An easy trick to buy nice pieces at a great price is buying outside of the season. Usually, Autumn clothing will be sold at a discount during off-seasons (Winter/Spring/Summer). I actually purchased the sweater and skirt this past Summer for an incredible price, since they were from Fall 2017/Winter 2018 collection. This is a good strategy for pieces that are repetitive from year to year. For example, tan suede mini skirts are sold every single year; they are a Fall wardrobe staple. However, if you are interested in buying an item that is very unique and you know will be out of style soon, this money-saving hack might not be the best idea as it will most likely sell-out fast and will not be restocked.
Lastly, let’s talk about the handbag. I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH IT. It is super stylish, and I am very satisfied with the quality. Also, it is a Versace look-alike, except instead of retailing for approximately $2000, it’s only $44.50. To add to its already awesome characteristics, it can be worn two ways; as a crossbody bag, or as a fanny pack, which we all know have been really in for the past two years. I honestly cannot express how happy I am to have received this bag (it was a gift from my mom, thanks mom❤️). All I can say is that it is very much on trend this season and it is going fast. So, if you have not gotten it yet, hurry!
As an end to this post, I just want to say thank you for all the love and support. It really means the world to me. Xox

Plaid mini skirts are one of the most prominent fashion trends for Fall 2018! Paired with a beautiful oversized knit sweater that is super cozy for fall weather and brings out the camel undertones found in the skirt. Finishing the outfit with high-end designer items, such as the Gucci belt or the Chanel boy bag, really completes the look.

Hello dears! I feel like I haven’t been blogging as much lately, life has been keeping me very busy. I am glad to be back! I just started school again, going into my third year of my Bachelor of Commerce degree. I am excited for this particular year, since I can now commence my major in marketing. Speaking of school, I wore this outfit for my first day of classes. I had purchased this top earlier this summer, but unfortunately haden’t had the opportunity to wear it before. I am loving the orange colour, it is so saturated and really brings out my tan. About that, I have major tan lines from working two days at the beach. For those who do not know, I am a swimming instructor and lifeguard, hence the awkward tan lines haha. I paired this top with white jeans in order to really make it pop and to bring out as much colour possible. I completed this look with brown accents, as seen with my bag, shoes, and belt (however shoes and bag were not pictured). I went with gold metallics throughout, and as you know, I always coordinate my metallics. I find it brings the whole outfit together and creates a sense of cohesiveness.
Have a nice week xoxo

This outfit resembles what I wear to school on a daily basis. The idea is using basic wardrobe pieces, such as a black leather tote, black booties, black jeans, and a wool coat, and combining them with a statement piece, which in this case is the pink blouse.
