I have used this tweed blazer for a couple different OOTD posts, and I keep finding new ways to style it. I definitely LOVE this blazer and it fits me like a glove! I was recently gifted a new Karl Lagerfeld Paris blazer and am excited to share it with you all! Outfit for that will be coming soon!
This outfit focuses on the play of cream and black, with white as a neutral base. These colours are of such French influence, as seen with Chanel. By using mainly neutral colours, so many different outfits can be made and each garment can be styled in various manners. As much as I love my pops of colour, I for sure appreciate a more classic and neutral-toned wardrobe. I feel like during the Summer I bring out very bright and saturated colours, which all remind me of the Amalfi coast and of numerous Italian designers (ex: Dolce & Gabbana). However, during the rest of the year, my main colours are neutral, such as black and white, which is more of the French style.
OOTD: Black and Camel Luxe
This coat is definitely an essential fashion staple. It can be during Fall through Spring, styled with different accessories for unique looks. Its classic cut goes with everything; whether you are wearing a dress, skirts, dress pants, or jeans, you will always be fashionable. The wool material provides a certain standard or quality and warmth not found with acrylic or polyester. Pea coats come in a variety of colours, however purchasing one in a neutral colour looks more expensive (due to natural fibres being neutral in colour) and is much more versatile. Trench coats are loose, belted, double-breasted raincoats in a military style. They are very practical during Fall and Spring, to provide a little warmth against the wind and to stay dry in the rain. Trench coats can be effortlessly styled with all outfits. They come in a variety or colours, however once again I recommend purchasing one in a neutral colour for it to come into further use. Military jackets, also known as officer’s jackets, are a suit-type jacket of who’s style originate from British militia uniforms. Iconically known for the double-breasted front and gold buttons, this jacket also comes in a variety of colours and cuts, sometimes with further gold ornamentation along the sleeves, shoulders, and collar. OOTD: Black & Cream
Brought to life by Chanel, this iconic jacket emirates elegance and class. Gabrielle Chanel revolutionized women’s fashion in the 1920s and 1930s, inspired by menswear. Back then, women were constricted to corsets and thus could not move comfortable. She began to wear her beau’s clothes, and quickly noticed the suppleness and comfort of his clothes. To this day, the tweed jacket still recognized as the archetypal Chanel look. Here are some links to shop: Karl Lagerfeld | Chanel | Rebecca Taylor
OOTD: Luxurious Black
Owning a black blazer is almost just as important as owning undergarments; it is a essential piece of clothing in this modern world. It can be styled for casual, business, and formal wear; the possibilities are endless. There are numerous cuts and details, so find one that speaks to you! Welcome back! I have decided to introduce a new mini-series to my blog: the Timeless Capsule Wardrobe. It has been a long-time coming, so I am excited to finally be sharing it with you all.
As you know, I am currently in university and am living the life of a broke student 😦 My reality involves working 30+ hour weeks to be able to pay for school out-of-pocket as I go. My goal is to avoid student loans in order to graduate debt-free. It is doable, however it is challenging and takes great discipline in order to maintain a tight budget.
Unfortunately, as much as I love fashion and beauty, I do not have the funds to afford all the luxuries that I desire. Therefore, when shopping, my philosophy is putting more money towards one item with high quality that I know will last me a long time. I am not a fan of fast-fashion; buying multiple cheap clothing items of low quality that do not last long. You might get a couple of wears out of them before having to purchase a whole new item once again. This shopping mentality not only exhausts your money, but also your time. Time that could be spent at your job working and making more money (increasing your cash inflow), instead of spending more money (increasing your cash outflow).
With that in mind, I have chosen a few items that I find every wardrobe needs, but that create a variety of timeless outfits. The whole point of a capsule wardrobe is to exploit as many different outfit combinations with a select number of clothing items. The trick is to buy neutral pieces that can alternate well with each other.
Every week, I will be posting a continuation of this series, focusing on a certain type of clothing item. First one to come will be about coats, jackets, and blazers. Stay tuned!

Here was one of my looks last week. I am absolutely in LOVE with this Karl Lagerfeld tweed blazer! The quality is amazing and it fits like a glove. I remember when I first tried it on at the store, my mom told me I would be crazy not to get it. And so I did, and I have never been discontent with my purchase; plus it was on sale! It was such a good investment piece, and it is a classic in any wardrobe.
This is the perfect time of year to wear this type of blazer. It is still a little chilly outside, but sometimes too warm to be wearing a coat. This look can be easily paired with a silk scarf if you still want protection from the cold wind.
Hope you all have a great rest of your week:)
